Environmental groups on the Philippines have challenged President-elect Benigno Aquino III to be a 'Green President'. They said that President Aquino must take the necessary steps in implementing positive reforms and must be sincere in the protection and conservation of the environment. They also want President Aquino to investigate the environmental crimes of the Arroyo administration, cancel contracts of environmentally destructive projects and review anti-environment policies.
This is a major concern for the newly-proclaimed president especially the effects of climate change is obvious in our country. Every step, every decision he will make will be monitored by environmental groups.
